Campaigns
As an NGO we have focused on various campaigns over the past years targeting multiple stakeholders in the fields of road safety ranging from Doctors who may be responding to accidents, students just embarking on getting their driving licence as well as various other road users.
Streetsmart
Our Street Smart campaign aims to educate younger people regarding the importance of road safety. This campaign mainly focuses on sixth form students who will soon be applying for their driving licence and primary school children to increase their understanding of how to be safe on the road.
An interactive session is given to sixth form students focusing on the following key topics:
- Getting your licence
- Picking a safe first car
- Maintaining your car
- Drink driving
- Speeding
- Texting and Driving
- Alternative modes of transport including motorbikes and bicycles.
Primary school children are given interactive sessions in collaboration with the Malta Medical Students Association consisting of a road safety simulation and short sessions on how they can stay safe in a car, on their bicycles and when walking on the pavement.
This campaign has been ongoing for the past 2 years and sessions have been carried out at various post secondary and primary schools around the island.
First Responder Doctors Training
This course has been ongoing for the past 3 years and is targeted at Doctors who want to refresh and improve their skills in pre-hospital care settings related to road traffic collisions. Helping to make doctors coming from all specialties more confident if they ever encounter collisions with any casualties while commuting.
